The play “bacon/freud” by Anthi Zachariades (writer of historical plays such as ‘Caterina: Last Queen of Cyprus’ and ‘Eleonora of Cyprus’) will be showing in March. Kyriazis and Araouzos are codirecting and portraying Bacon and Freud and Elena Katsouri is the set designer.

In 1988, at a Gallery in Berlin, a small painting that depicted Frances Bacon was stolen and has never been seen since; the disappearance of the portrait was not simply a loss of a great work of art. For the artist of the work – Lucian Freud, Sigmund Freud’s nephew, the painting represents one of the most important relatonships of his life, that has also been lost..
