‘I’d Rather Walk than Drink and Drive’ Annual charity walk 2016

On the 6th of November 2016 the 8th Annual charity walk under the title “I’d Rather Walk Than Drink and Drive”, will take place along the pedestrian walkway on the coastline of Lemesos and will cover a distance of 10 km, with the aim to promote awareness on the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The walk is organised by Dr. Yiota Demetriou - The Dancing Queen Foundation.  

The walk is fully supported by the Police Traffic Control, Lemesos, Agios Athanasios and Germasogeia Municipalities, Agios Tychonas and Mouttagiaka Community Councils.

You can register online by visiting the website at www.yddqfoundation.com. Upon registration you will receive two emails, one with your sponsorship form and the other with an Information leaflet.

The sponsorship form is used by the participant to collect money from people willing to sponsor their participation in the walk. Forms and all money collected are to be brought on the day of the walk and handed over to members of the foundation prior to the walk. The deadline for participation is October 28th 2016.

Cost: 10 Euro minimum participation fee

T-shirts will be given to those who register, so please be sure to include your t-shirt size in order to ensure you receive your t-shirt on the day. In order to start the walk on time, participants are strongly advised to be at the meeting point at 8:00 to give enough time to hand in their form and funds, receive their t-shirt and prepare for the walk.

At the finishing line, certificates of achievement will be given out to all participants and organised buses  will take them to their cars at the starting point.
