Open Conference about the Programme UNESCO MAB: Man and Biosphere, for designated areas - Pafos2017


An Informative Conference about the programme UNESCO MAB: Man and Biosphere for protected areas and communities within them, is being organised under the programme Akamas Project of ECoC PAFOS2017.

The event is open to the public and aims to inform the local communities and other stakeholders of the Akamas peninsula, about the programme Man and Biosphere and the Network of UNESCO Biosphere Reserves. The main speakers, Professor Michael Scoullos, President of the Greek National Commission for UNESCO MAB and Philippe Pypaert, Programme Specialist at the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe at Venice, will present the benefits and prospects of designated areas as Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO. Representatives from other UNESCO Biosphere Reserves in the Mediterranean will present their experiences and highlight good practices from their sites.
