Piano Recital by Krzysztof Ksiazek

The Pharos Arts Foundation, with the kind support of the Embassy of Poland in Cyprus, presents a piano recital with Krzysztof Ksiazek – prize-winner in a number of important international piano competitions including the Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, the Paderewski Piano Competition in the US, the International Competition of the Morocco Philharmonic Orchestra and the International Piano Competition Ricard Viñes in Spain. For his recital in Cyprus, on Thursday 10 November 2016 at The Shoe Factory, Krzysztof will perform works by Chopin, Scarlatti and Schumann.

KRZYSZTOF KSIAZEK piano

Krzysztof Ksiazek was born in Krakow in 1992. He studied with Professor Stefan Wojtas at the Academy of Music in Krakow, where he completed his Bachelor degree. In June 2016, he graduated with a Master’s degree from F. Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.

Krzysztof is a prize-winner in a number of national and international competitions, including, First and Special Prize, and Second Prize, in the Frederic Chopin National Piano Competition in Warsaw (2013 and 2015 respectively), Third Prize in the Concours International de Musique de l'Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc (Casablanca, 2016), First Prize and Grand Prix in the International Chopin Piano Competition (Ukraine, 2010), Second Prize and Special Prize for Best Performance of a work by Paderewski in the II American Paderewski Piano Competition (Los Angeles, USA, 2013), Special Prize for Best Polish Participant in the IX International Paderewski Piano Competition (Bydgoszcz, 2013), Grand Prix and Special Prize for Best Performance of works by Chopin in Płock in 2008, First Prize in the X Ludwik Stefański and Halina Czerny- Stefańska Piano Competition, Second Prize in XV Concurs International de Piano Ricard Viñes (Spain, 2009), and Semi-finalist and winner of extra-statutory prizes during the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.

Krzysztof Ksiazek has appeared as a soloist all over the world, including in the US, UK, South Africa, Germany, France and Russia, under the baton of such conductors as J. Kasprzyk, T. Strugala W. Michniewski, O. Holst, A. Humala, M. Mos, S. Krawczynski, W. Rodek, P. Sulkowski, amongst others. He has been invited by festivals such as the International Chopin Piano Festival in Duszniki Zdroj, the International Festival of Young Laureates of Music Competitions “Silesia” in Katowice, and the Artur Rubinstein Festival of Łódź Philharmonic.

In March 2014, Krzysztof was awarded the Krystian Zimerman Scholarship, and he currently continues his studies with Arie Vardi at Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover. He is also a keen chamber musician and he is represented by the L.van Beethoven Society.
