άκ is a bimonthly series of sound events that aims to make up (for) the necessary time that a history of Cypriot electronic music would have needed to emerge. As such, the events will radically vary in both character and locations.
For theYard Residency, άκουσμα presents two nights of improvised sound by four local electronic musicians using interconnected analogue and digital modular synthesizers (max/msp).
Since modular synthesizers have no memory to recall from and improvisation is an immediate form of composition, the audience is encouraged to attend both nights and see whether any “moments” can be recalled from the night before.
