Trio Myterioso is a newly-formed group consisting of Ermis Michail on guitar, Andreas Rodosthenous on bass and George Koulas on drums. All three musicians are an integral part of the local music scene, and are recording artists and great live performers. Their music is influenced by contemporary music elements of blues, jazz and funk. They play a mixture of original compositions and arrangements of popular songs of our era, approaching them through improvisation with emphasis on a strong thematic melody.
Ermis Michail (1988), Lecturer at the University of Nicosia has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival and won the 1st prize at “The Nicolas Economou Foundation (NEF) Scholarship Competition”. In 2014 he finished his Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts). Since then he has collaborated with many established musicians such as Gilad Atzmon, Tony Lakatos, Alexia, Ed Verhoeff and Damian Erksin. During that time he has played in the recording of Cahit Kutrafali’s album “As it is”(2016), and arranged and performed the music of the Vasilikis Anastasiou’s “Amalgamation Project” EP album (2014) as well as the new album in 2017 where they performed at Munich’s «Zyprischer Fruhlin 2017». In 2016 he released his debut album with his original compositions “Minor Change” and performed it in Cyprus, Berlin and the Netherlands.
Andreas Rodosthenous was born in Limassol, in 1977 and started playing music from a very young age, self-taught. He studied in the Rotterdam’s Conservatory in The Netherlands where he had the chance to play along with Annaelis DeJong, Thierry Castel, Ilja Reijngoud in music stages like the Bim Haus, Dizzy Jazz club, Theater De Evenaar and many more. He had the opportunity to collaborate and record with Vasilis Papacostantinou and Christoforos Krokidis in Greece as well as local artists like, Savvas Chouvartas, Vasiliki Anastasiou, Nicole Ardanitou and Savvas Isovitis. He has recorded and published his own music on the cd “Simplicity” in 2015, along with the musicians, Giorgos Morfitis on the piano, Alkis Agathokleous on the ney and Stelios Xydias on the drums. He also has appeared in festivals like the Fusion festival in Germany, EUNIC jazz festival in Berlin, Technopolis jazz festival in Athens and at the music:LX in Louxembourg.
George Koulas drummer, percussionist, performer and music creator, has been active playing and creating music for the last 30 years in Cyprus and abroad. He graduated from Codarts in 2002. He has been collaborating during his long and active career with numerous artists. He has been performing in Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, New Orleans, and Boston.

Sarah’s Jazz Club is dedicated to the exciting and quality arts of jazz and blues. Its main aims are to support and showcase Cypriot musicians and build cultural bridges with musicians abroad. The cultural and live music entertainment centre opened in April 2017 in the capital Nicosia. It is located in a multi-cultural neighborhood just off OXI roundabout in the city centre.
Music lovers can enjoy live jazz and blues every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Running parallel to the live concerts are inspiring art exhibitions in the venue’s gallery.
SJC is the brainchild of Jazz Arts & Communications. It was founded by jazz singer Sarah Fenwick and Director Savvas Hadjigeorgiou.
