AZNIVE PAPAZIAN was born in Larnaca, Cyprus. She is a graduate of the Melkonian Educational Institute, Lefkosia. She studied at the American University of Beirut (AUB), where she obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration.

She studied painting, drawing, engraving and mosaic art at the school of Fine Arts of Andreas Charalambous in Nicosia and took part in the exhibitions of the school.

She took part for two consecutive summers (1987 and 1988) in workshops run by Raphael Atoyan, a painter well-known in the Armenian world. She also followed courses of wood sculpture organized by Gregoris Charalambous and attended ceramics as well as small-scale sculpture with clay courses at the workshop of the ceramist Zoe Mavrogeni.

Armenian poetry, all the way down its long history, has been guided by the two-way interplay between man and the world and this forms the main axis and area of inspiration for Aznive’s work too. This puts man at the centre as well as at the receiving end of the phenomena and forces from the natural environment.

The artist has worked within the sphere of figurative and abstract Expressionism.

On exhibition will be her work of the last eleven years and includes portraits, landscapes, seascapes, compositions, still life, compositions with the human figure, life drawing and her materials are oil, acrylic, pencil, charcoal, sanguine, Sauce, Indian ink, pen, pastels, coloured pencils, water colour, Gouache, paper and fabric.

Aznive has exhibited in Yerevan and Etchmiadzin in Armenia, as well as in Nicosia, has taken part in group exhibitions and her work is to be found in both private and public collections in Cyprus and abroad.

Since 2005 she has devoted herself exclusively to painting and drawing.
