Chamber Music Evening with cello and piano


The cellist Robertas Grod from Lithuania and the pianist Marat Mansyrev from Russia invite you to a musical journey to France, led by three well-known composers, at Technopolis 20 in Pafos, on Friday, 2nd of February 2018, at 20:00.

Starting with romantic pieces by Gabriel Faure, the two musicians will lead you to explore the colourful works by Claude Debussy and to unlock a whole world in your imagination with the magical sonatas by Cesar Franck.

A few words about the musicians:
Robert Grod was born in 1991 in Lithuania. He studied in Vilnius at the Balys Dvarionas music school in the class of J. VeiverieneĢ‡. He is a laureate prize winner of the Dvarionas and Urba music competitions in Lithuania. In 2010 Robert began his studies at the Moscow State Conservatory, under the tutorship of Natalia Shakhovskaya. In 2012 he won first prize in the Kozolupov competition in Moscow, and in 2016 he graduated from the conservatory with honours. Since then, he has been working in Nicosia for Cyprus Young String Soloists, which is a programme of the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture, aiming at identifying children aged 3-18 who are very talented in music, and at providing them with instrument instruction at the highest possible level.

Marat Mansyrev was born in the city of Tashkent, Russia. He received his initial music education at the Central Republic School, named after V. A. Uspensky, at the Tashkent Conservatory, where he became laureate of the Republican contest. In 1999 he continued his studies at the Gnessin State College and Academy of Music. While studying he became a laureate of the Kiev International Competition (2001), he was one of the founders of the first Russian tango orchestra (orquesta tipica) "Soledad orquesta" (composition: bandoneon, violin, piano, guitar, bass), with which he performed at major international festivals in Russia and Europe. From 2005 to 2012 he worked as an accompanist at Central music school of the Moscow Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky. In 2010 he participated with the artist Veniamin Smehov, in the musical-poetic performance "The twelve months of a tango" that had a great success in many theatres and concert halls of Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Germany, Latvia and United States. He won the diploma of the best accompanist at the IX International Youth Competition P. I. Tchaikovsky (Novosibirsk, 2015) and at the III Open all-Russian Cello Competition S. M. Kozolupov (Moscow, 2016).
