4th Christmas Art Market
Venue: Technopolis 20 Cultural Center

“Technopolis 20” like every year, organizes its Christmas Art Market for the fourth consecutive year, on Sunday, 3rd of December 2017, from 10 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. Handmade creations such as jewellery, Christmas decorations, handbags, scarves, books, traditional products, sweets and more, will be exhibited at Technopolis 20 where artists, amateur and professional creators and volunteer organizations will expose their creations, ideal for your Christmas gifts. Come to the beautiful venue of Technopolis 20, and enjoy your coffee at the same time in a festive atmosphere. Two creative workshops for children and families will take place during the day. At the cartoons creation workshop “Cartoons Carols: Giving life to the Christmas Songs”, we draw scenes and characters from popular Christmas songs, such as the little drummer, Rudolph, etc., with the cartoon artist Panagiota Michael (11:30, participation free). At 15:30 the handicraft workshop “Creating our own Christmas ornaments” with the artist Chara Papadopoulou, will give the opportunity to the participants to create their own Christmas decorations, easily and with simple materials (participation 5 Euro).

Christmas Concert

Paphos Music Lovers presents their “Christmas concert” at Technopolis 20, on Monday, 4th of December 2017, at 15:00 where the pianist Ivelina Rouseva will perform well-loved classics by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven, Schubert, while in the second part the soprano Tina Chester will present some classical and modern Christmas songs and carols. During the interval enjoy freshly-brewed coffee (or tea, or juice) and delicious home-made traditional Cypriot cake and after the concert, join us for a seasonal celebration with home-made mince pies, made to a British recipe, together with German Gluhwein, (with an alcohol-free alternative) freshly made on the premises. Classical Concert for Piano and Cello

A Classical Concert for piano and cello is organised on Friday, 8th of December 2017, at 20:00 with the classical pianist Tatiana Stupak and the cellist Robert Grod. The two musicians return to Technopolis 20 for one more concert with a programme that will include works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Kodály, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and Limassol composer David Pentecost.

Saxy Christmas: with the EUC Saxophone Quartet
Venue:Technopolis 20 Cultural Center

Join us for a unique Christmas concert with the sax quartets of European University Cyprus and the newly established Cyprus Saxophone Orchestra, at Technopolis 20, on Wednesday, 13th of December 2017, at 20:00. The concert will include jazzy arrangements of well-known Christmas carols from around the world, as well as original works written for the Christmas period.
The EUC sax quartets were established in 2006 and are comprised of faculty, students and recent graduates of the music program. They have performed at the CyBC program Entechnos, the Cyprus Wine Museum, Technopolis 20, the Cultural Workshop of Agioi Omologites, the King’s Avenue Mall and elsewhere. Their members are Yiannis Miralis (soprano sax, associate professor of saxophone and music education), Iacovos Parpas (tenor sax, instructor of jazz saxophone, Vicky Siafaka (alto sax, EUC graduate), Christos Papadopoulos (tenor sax, member of the EUC Band), Karl Tipp (alto sax, undergraduate Erasmus student from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre) and Nikos Kaiafas (baritone saxophone, undergraduate student from Thessaloniki). With their purity of sound, extensive dynamic range and homogenous blending they aspire to contribute to the promotion of classical saxophone in Cyprus. The newly established Cyprus Saxophone Orchestra has been established in the fall of 20017 and is directed by Kate Jarrold and Yiannis Miralis. It is comprised of students and faculty from the American International School in Cyprus and EUC. Within its first months of operation it has been invited to perform in various venues within the month of December.

Technopolis 20 invites you to the concert “Love Confession in Russian Romances”, on Friday, 15th of December at 20:00. Enjoy beautiful Russian songs from popular films, by composers such as A. Petrov, M. Tariverdiev, R. Pauls, M. Dunaevsky and others.
Musicians performing are Ekaterina Rodionova (vocals), Anna Senkova (vocals), Svetlana Korolko (violin) and Roman Shmatalyuk (piano).

A concert dedicated to the music of the two great composers, Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis, at Technopolis 20, on Wednesday, the 27th of December at 8pm, with Savvas Chrysostomou on the guitar and Marianna Georgiou on the piano.
Sing along to some of the most famous tunes of the two composers in a cosy festive atmosphere.

“Russian fireworks”, a concert dedicated to Sergei Rachmaninoff, 75 years from his death with Manolis Neophytou (piano) and Sorin Alexandrou Horlea (violin) is organised at Technopolis 20, on Thursday, 28th of December 2017 at 19:00. The programme includes works by Sergei Rachmaninoff fragments from the ballet The Nutcracker by Piotr Tchaikovsky, based on the Christmas tale The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by German author E. T. A. Hoffmann and other works.
