It’s Only Rock and Roll

It’s Only Rock and Roll

Exhibition of drawings by Duncan Lamb.
Special unplugged performance by Davey Woodford plus complimentary wine and nibbles.

For Duncan Lamb, music and art are synonymous, speaking the same language, both generating emotional responses. Art and music feed the heart and soul, responding directly to the human experience. As the boundaries between art and popular music become increasingly blurred, so Duncan draws here on his personal experience as a designer/artist /illustrator to create a body of work referencing pop portraiture… Let Your
Eyes Dance!
Duncan Lamb works in a number of mediums, his style described as realistic, using mainly airbrush and graphite. The medium he uses is mainly water based, covering a wide genre including architectural and illustrative. His diverse work includes
wall murals, posters, car and motorbike bodies and illustrations and designs for books.
Duncan was born in the UK in 1944 and trained as a designer, illustrator and artist and was a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers, Fellow of the Society of Architectural Illustrators and Hon. Fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors.
Having worked in Amsterdam, Brussels, Seoul and London he eventually became Head of London Transport Architects Department. During this period he designed such iconic stations as Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Circus, Bank, Monument and Waterloo and won two silver medals for architecture. Duncan became chairman of his local Art Society on the South Coast of England and Trustee of the Metropole Arts Centre in Folkestone, accepted by the Royal Academy on two occasions. A number of one man and combined exhibitions in the UK and New Zealand have been the pinnacle of Duncan's career.
