Enchanting images, trails full of challenge, natura, andrelanine and nice moments are the characteristics that compoce the race “Mantra tou Kampiou-Kakotzefalos” which will be held on the 7th of May 2023.
The route of 21km with elevation of 780m starts from the picnic area Mantra tou Kampiou and continues in the direction of the monastery of Profitis Ilias. The first 7km is a forest road, while immediately after the monastery, runners will enter the trail (E4) which ascends to the picnic area located in the area “Kionia”. Then, the route descends and continues thourgh the well-known trail Kakokefalos (E4). Leaving Kakokefalos, the runners will continue on a forest road, which will lead them to the finish area. There will be 3 water stations. Due to the peculiarity of the ground but mainly due to the many technical parts of the route, trail shoes are considered necessary.
The 9km route with elevation of 470m also starts from the picnic area of Mantra tou Kampiou, but a few meters after the start it follows a separate direction. The runners will head to the cycling trail “Thanos” where they will ascend in the direction of Kionia. At a point where the path “Thanos” meets the “Kakokefalos”, runners will descend and continue to the finish area through the trail Kakokefalos. There will be 1 water station. Due to the peculiarity of the ground but mainly due to the many technical parts of the route, trail shoes are considered necessary.
Both races are for experienced rubbers of 18 years old and above.
