Ocean Lava Cyprus is part of the Ocean Lava International Triathlon Series which includes 18 races around the world ranging from Paphos to Lanzarote and Azores. The race is considered to be one of the most important triathlon races in the island and is an upgraded transformation of the original Pafos Tritahlon, which was taking place for five consecutive years in the area until was renamed in 2018 to Ocean Lava Cyprus. The race begins with open water swimming at the Paphos Municipal Baths (Sprint 750m | Olympic 1500m), followed by a flat cycle towards Geroskipou (Sprint 20km | Olympic 40km) and a coastal run for in the last part of the race (Sprint km | Olympic 10km).Team relay entries are available for both distances (Sprint and Olympic). In 2020, Ocean Lava Cyprus will run its third year while entries are expected to exceed 200 athletes.
