In this community outreach programme, the CySO reaches out to two particularly sensitive groups of our fellow citizens, to spread the energizing, joyful vibes of its music-making through a selection of the most radiant romantic music. After many years, the orchestra returns to the entrance hall of the American Medical Centre as well as in the amphitheatre of the Central Prisons, whilst also re-visiting the beautiful community of Tala in Pafos.  
The concerts will be conducted by the promising young Cypriot maestro Andreas Asiikkis in his debut with the CySO.

ANDREAS ASIIKKIS is a Cypriot conductor based in Manchester, UK.
 
While working towards his Master’s in Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music, Andreas has conducted new works performances, family concerts, and has assisted conductors such as Martyn Brabbins, Sir Andrew Davis, Juanjo Mena, John Storgårds, and Joshua Weilerstein at the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Most notably, in January 2024 he conducted a world premiere in a side-by-side concert with the BBC Philharmonic and RNCM students, recorded for BBC Radio 3.
 
Previously, he studied Orchestral Conducting with Miltos Logiadis at the Ionian University, graduating at the top of his class. While in Corfu, he served as assistant conductor to Alkis Baltas at the Philharmonic Society of Corfu Symphony Orchestra, and created a youth orchestra at the Ionian Conservatory focusing on film music. Subsequently, he continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava with Marián Lejava, culminating in a performance with the orchestra Cappella Istropolitana for his final exam.
 
His most recent engagements include assisting Yiorgos Kountouris with the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra and Joshua Weilerstein with the Kalamata Festival Orchestra, enabling him to conduct pieces in their performances.
