Dimitris Mytaras was born in Chalkida in 1934 and died in 2017. He studied painting at the School of Fine Arts in Athens (1953-1957) and stage design at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Paris (1961-1964). In 1977 he became a regular professor at the Fine Art School of Athens. Mytaras started his career with drawing and then proceeded with the application of color. In his works, the most striking and prominent features are the dynamism of design and vivid use colour. There is a synthesis of expressionistic atmosphere and surrealism with an overtone of social critique. He has exhibited his work in many solo-exhibitions both in Greece and abroad. Mytaras has also participated in Greek and international group exhibitions in many of the world’s capitals and in virtually every important biennale.
Giorgos Stathopoulos was born in Kallithea of Trihonida in 1944. He studied painting and sculpture at the Fine Art School of Athens alongside Yiannis Morali, Nicos Nicolaou, Yiannis Papa and Dimitris Kalamaras. He had his first solo exhibition in 1970 and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He has illustrated a series of books, and designed album art and posters.
Andreas Charalambides was born in Paphos in 1939. He studied painting in Athens and at the University of Reading in England. In the 60’s, after a short period of graphic painting, employing vivid characteristics, he turned to abstract painting. His subjects are taken from Archaic, Byzantine and folk figures. Works often portray women figures, painting with warm colors and a subdued poetic mood. He has exhibited his work in Cyprus and abroad (Greece, England, U.S.A., Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, France, India).
