Travellers from Australia - Pafos2017

Groups of archaeologists from the University of Sydney have been carrying out excavations in Cyprus for the past decades, bringing to light the Hellenistic-Roman theatre of Nea Pafos. This is the most ancient theatre in Cyprus which was in use from 300 BC until earthquakes led to its ruin in 365 AD.

With this landmark location of antiquity as their starting point, architects and artists have worked together in compiling a collection of accurate copies, art books and photographs of great Australian artists who have been inspired by the cultural heritage of Pafos.

Curated by Diana Wood Conroy and Craig Barker.
